Lungs:

Lungs are the paired organs in the chest that perform respiration, Each human has 2 lungs. Each lung is between 10 and 12 Inches long.

Lungs do a vital job. Each day we take about 23000 breaths. When we take a breath in then your lungs expand, when we release breath lungs contract. Diagphragm helps in this expansion and contraction of lungs. Diaphragm contracts when lungs expand with air taken in while it relaxes when your lungs contract with air taken out. The air taken in through your breath contain several gases, including oxygen, that our cells need to function. With each breath, lungs add fresh oxygen to blood, which then carries to your cells. The main function of your lungs is respiration. This fresh oxygen taken through each breath purifies the blood, helps in red cell formation, helps curing thickness and clot of blood.

The main disease that affects the lungs is poor respiration. If proper care is not taken then soon it converts into asthama.
